Family Service Counselors

In a context of faith, with its promise of eternal life, the Archdiocese of Milwaukee Catholic Cemeteries will help you make careful and informed choices that will respect Christian funeral and burial traditions, as well as reflect your contemporary preferences. Our daily ministry and work is serving the nearly 3,000 individuals and families who are placed in our care annually. With our long experience and special philosophy, we are capable of guiding your at-need or pre-need funeral and burial arrangements to express something ever ancient…yet ever new.

These Catholic Cemeteries offer a variety of burial options, products and services within our eight cemeteries with their seven mausoleums. While respecting your preferences — personal, familial, emotional, financial and spiritual — our Family Service Counselors will guide you with a full, unhurried, in-depth disclosure of our burial options, services and products so you can make prudent and informed choices.

The Family Service Counselors are for many the face of and interface with the Catholic Cemeteries. They cover all eight Cemeteries on a rotating basis, either on duty or on call for duty. For staffing patterns, see Hours. The pricing for all Counselors at all Cemeteries is uniform. No location has different pricing, nor can a Counselor offer different costs.

Counselors can work with any individual/family seeking assistance in during the period we call "pre-need", or before there has been a death and before the "need" for burial.

When the situation is "at-need", after there has been a death and at the time when burial is needed, counselors on duty or called for an appointment, have precedence.

What can the Family Service Counselors do?

• present the ministerial face of the Catholic Cemeteries of the Archdiocese of Milwaukee to the public.
• offer customer service and serve as on-site resource persons to all who visit or call.
• serve with experience, stability, maturity, compassion and professionalism.
• work at all eight of our cemeteries either on a rotating duty schedule or by on-call service.
• write purchase agreements for burial space (grave, crypts, niches), grave memorials in granite or bronze and write the orders for various types of memorialization & silk floral decorations.
• handle all paperwork issues relating to cemetery burial.
• explain cemetery policies and procedures.
• meet with at-need and pre-need families and individuals.
• respond to questions and requests for information, pricing, etc.
