GENEALOGY DAY
HELD AT
HISTORIC CALVARY CEMETERY IN MILWAUKEE ON JULY 24, 2004
Through the initiative of the Irish Genealogical Society of Wisconsin and the cooperation of the Catholic Cemeteries, about a dozen people came to the Calvary Cemetery Office, "re-opened" for a morning, to search burial records and traverse the burial grounds.
The Calvary Chapel, high atop its hill (is it the highest point in Milwaukee County?), was open for a time.
Days like this will be scheduled again. Also, regular guided tours of Calvary will be scheduled for several Saturdays before the snow flies.
Randy Chasco and Chuck Murphy were on hand to open the "treasures" of the Catholic Cemeteries to all.
